Lake Titicaca is a sacred place for the Andean peoples that surround it, and has been the subject of many legends and myths. But in addition to its rich cultural history, the lake offers unparalleled natural beauty. With its crystal-clear waters and cool climate, it is home to a variety of unique plant and animal species, some of which are endemic to the lake.

Visitors can explore some of the totora floating islands of the Uros, which have been built by the lake’s inhabitants to protect themselves from the Incas. Itinerary

Fisrt Day:Amantani

One of our guides will pick you up from your hotel at 7.30am and transfer you to the port of Puno to board motor boats, which will take us on a 40-minute trip. Upon arrival, we will visit the floating islands of Uros, where a family will welcome us and explain their customs and way of life in the Aymara language. After the informative session, we will take a short tour aboard boats made of reeds (totora) in the surrounding area, offering beautiful scenery of this magical place. The visit will last approximately 45 minutes, after which we will depart on our motorboat to the island of Amantani.

En route, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Lake Titicaca, which is considered the highest lake in the world. We will arrive at the island of Amantani at around 1.30 pm, where we will accommodate you in local family homes, and provide lunch of typical food. After lunch, you will have a free afternoon to explore the area on your own or enjoy the evening with the host family.

In the evening, our guide will invite you to trek to Pachatata Temple and Pacha Mama, a sacred place for thousands of years that is still considered a place of worship for the people of this community. Our guide will explain the customs, beliefs and rituals practiced by these people.

After the trek, we will return to the family home for dinner, and then you will be dressed in traditional costumes of the place and invited to a folk festival where you can dance and enjoy the music typical of this community. The party will last approximately one hour, after which we will return to our family for the night.

Second Day:Taquile

After breakfast, we will cross the island of Amantani to Taquile Island, a one-hour journey. Upon arrival, we will take a walk into the village to observe the famous textiles and traditional clothing, and learn about the customs of these people.

After the tour, we will have lunch and then return to the city of Puno, arriving approximately at 4.30 pm. You will then be transferred back to your hotel to end the program.
